INFORMATION: A general name for guardian deities of seafarers, including fishermen, they include the three Munakata-No-Kami. They are the focus of special worship by the Jingu-Kogo sect, whom they have escorted to Korea. They are also patrons of poets and have a purifying role. The main sanctuary is the Sumiyoshi Taisha at Osaka.
