Rosh Hodesh

Rosh Hodesh is the name of the first day of each Hebrew month. Their lunar calendar is Babylonian in origin, making it very old and very Pagan. Although Rosh Hodesh was once held in reverence as a holy day for women, today it is celebrated in the male-dominated synagogues with special prayers and holy readings.
