Spessartine Garnet

Spessartine Garnet is a nesosilicate tha is composed of Manganese Aluminum Silicate. It is an attractive mineral that occurs in a variety of different crystals systems with either 12 rhombic or 24 trapezoidal faces, as well as in granular and massive forms. The main source of high quality stones are in Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Madagascar, and Brazil, and a purple variety is found in the states of Colorado and Maine, USA. Other locations include Australia, Myanmar, India, and Israel. Spessartine Garnet is often associated with minerals such as beryl, feldspar, quartz, rhodonite, tourmaline, and topaz, as well as many others. It has a resinous, vitreous, or dull luster and a white streak.
