Ten of Cups

The Ten of Cups is one of the cards of the Minor Arcana. Depicted on this card is a family standing under a rainbow of cups celebrating while heading to a new house and land. This is a card of familial happiness and new beginnings. When this card makes it's appearance into you spread it's there to show you that your family is behind you and you are heading for a successful new life. This a card of fertility, joy and celebration as well as new beginnings.

IN A READING	Tens are read the same as a number 1. However, they also signify a cyclical rebeginning, and a time when you must come to terms with something you may have avoided in the past. Many cups (three or more) indicate that conditions are felt primarily in the realm of emotion or spirit, but not necessarily as an outward manifestation.
FOCUS	The focus is on inpromptu departures from home, fleeing from boring or dreary responsibilities, rest and relaxation from worry, and unusual and/or unconventional relationships.
DESIRE	You want a fulfilling and or rewarding relationship and/or the support of others.
ROMANCE	"Emotion will rock the ocean" in a very unusual love affair.
THE UNEXPECTED	You are going to get a surprise from a lover … could be an old flame who will reenter your life.
OTHERS	Others will be friendly, sociable, or flirtatious and you will love being with them.
THE HOME	You will be contemplating a departure from home or your work, and will think that anything would be better than what you're doing or where you are now.
TRAVEL	A very pleasant or relaxing trip is on the horizon.
PAPERS	Something is going to enter the picture that will make your work a lot easier (like a new idea or program); or if you've been hoping to get out of a contract, or binding agreement, someone or something will provide the means for you to do just that.
WORK / CAREER	There will be correspondence connected with your work that will involve mail, phone calls, or special application.
UNIONS	A budding romance or renewed love bond will evoke great feelings of love or devotion. If single, this could indicate a marriage if other cards support it.
EMOTIONAL STATE	At times you will be emotional or moody, but for the most part, adaptable and flexible.
PLEASURE	You will enjoy socializing with your firends or family, freeing yourself from the cares of the word, and/or a sudden departure from a home to a new environment.
NEWS	You can expect to make or recieve a long distance phone calle, and many messages from your friends or relatives.
FAMILY	You will get a long-distance call from a relative or you will make one.
THE PHYSICAL BODY	You will be subject to erratic sleeping or eating habits and/or sexual preferences. But if you have been ill, you will soon recover.
FINANCES	Money matters will be in a state of delicate balance, but prospects look as if they are improving, and you will enjoy spending money on others or doing for others, and may pick up someone's tab … or he/she will pick up yours.
TIME	In time, you will meet and talk with many people who will encourage you and help you build more self-confidence, or confidence in the work you are doing.
FRIENDS	Expect a long distance call from a friend or relative, and a good friend or a loved one will soon be moving away or leaving your life … this could be due to a marriage.
VISITORS / CALLERS	An admirer will call or arrive, but you could be too wrapped up in your work or projects to exchange or reciprocate social amenities.
MAIL	You will get a letter or postcard from a relative who's been abroad or lives in another city, or you will write a letter(s) in an attempt to encourage the support of another or to sell your work.
ANXIETY	Your troubles will stem from having too many responsibilities or irons in the fire, and feeling that there's no hlep or visible means of support in sight.
DISAPPOINTMENT	A frustrating attempt or aborted plan will cause disappointment, but in no time at all, the situation will reverse itself.
ENDINGS	A negative or disagreeable situation is going to come to an end.
NEW BEGINNINGS	Something is going to arise that will take your mind off things, or help you to relax — something pleasurable or entertaining like an artistic project, social excursion, or trip away from home.
INHERITANCE	You will "inherit" sustenance, support, and full cooperation in all your affairs.
REWARDS / GIFTS	You will want to give to others and they will want to give to you. Gifts of the heart can be the greatest gifts of all.
SUCCESS	Your best success will come through travel, love, and pleasurable pursuits.
FORTUNE	You will have luck in obtaining freedom from responsibilities.
BLESSINGS	You will be grateful for a helping hand in your affairs, for supply or support from others, and/or that someone who's been ill has recovered.
SPECIAL GUIDANCE	Mundane:It's not going to be easy but keep trying and you'll succeed. Esoteric: Your relationships are a direct reflection of your relationship with yourself, or you review your relationship with your Higher Power. It follows then that if you want your relationships to improve, you must first improve your relationship with yourself. When you trust yourself you are trusting the Higher Power.
BEST COURSE OF ACTION	Trust a little more.
OUTCOME	You will gain the support of others and be visualizing ideas in order to mold a new future, and your wish for fulfillment or a successful outcome will be granted.
