19. The Sun

The Sun is the 19th card of the Major Arcana and the 19th step on the journey of life. Pictured on this card is a small child riding a white Unicorn carring a banner with the sun overhead and four sunflowers in the background. This is a card of Universal life and creativity as well as of control and perfect harmonious balance. The naked child astride the horse is indicative of perfect control and balance between the conscious and subsconcious. He needs no reigns, bridle nor saddle because he has achieved balance of purpose and is aware of his design which is to have dominion of the plants, animals, and minerals, and his own self. Each of which is represented by the four sunflowers. When this card comes into your spread it says to you "Its always darkest before the dawn."
This is a card when it appears in your spread shows up to remind you that you are a co-creator in your life. To often we think that there is no way that we can possibly achieve everything we strive for. Like The Star (17) ,when the things seem to be impossible we tend to lose hope or feel hopeless. The Sun will come shining through at the time we feel everything is darkest. "The sun will come up tommorow."
