Latitude—See Terrestrial Latitude.
Lights—An ancient term used for the Sun and the Moon.
Local Mean Time—LMT. Used before standardised time zones were implemented. Representing the location of birth in relation to the location of Greenwich, England, rather than by a difference in time.
Longitude—Measurments from east to west along the surface of the Earth. There is also celestial longitude, which refers to a measurement along the zodiac.
Luminaries—The Sun and the Moon. Sometimes referring to some or all of the planets.
Lunar Eclipse.— See Eclipse, Lunar.
Lunar Mansion—One of twenty-eight divisions of the zodiac circle used to identify the Moon's position on a given day. Often used in horary astrology.
Lunar Month—There are two types of lunar month. The synodic month is from one new Moon to the next new Moon, that is, the time it takes for the Moon to return to an opposition aspect with the Sun. This month lasts about twenty-nine days. The sidereal month is the time it takes the Moon to do a complete orbit of the Earth, that is, to return to the same star sign. This month lasts about twenty-seven days.

Lunation Cycle—One lunar cycle of a new Moon to the next new Moon.
