T-Cross—See Cosmic Cross.
Temperaments—The early Greek theory of four 'humours', linking bodily fluids with moods or dispositons. A person's temperament was said to be affected by a lack, or excess, of a particular fluid. The fluids were phlegm, black bile, yellow bile and blood, which correspond to phlegmatic, melancholic, choleric, and sanguine temperaments, respectively.
Temporal Houses—These are the Second, Sixth and Tenth Houses. Usually associated with the earth signs.
Term—Also known as 'bound'. See Essential Dignities and Debilities.
Terminal Houses—These are the Fourth, Eighth and Twelfth Houses. Asoociated with the water signs.
Terrestial Latitude—Latitude on Earth is the measured distance north and south of the equator. There is also celestial latitude, which refers to a measurement along the zodiac.
Topocentric Co-ordinate System—Topocentric means 'as viewed from the observer's place'. This coordinate system should not be confused with the Topocentric House System. This is a modern technique where planet positions are calculated as seen from the actual surface location of the Earth. This normally has little effect on the calculated positions of the planets. For the Moon, the difference can be up to 1°.
Topocentric House System—Method of house division which is capable of identifying house cusps for any place on Earth. The system determines cusps by projecting known events onto a chart, as opposed to other house systems taht are calculated mathematically.
Transit—The poision and movement of a planet or point on any given day.
Trigon—See Essential Dignities and Debilities.
Trine—With an arc of 120° of the 360° zodiac, this is the most harmonious aspect. It separates planets with a total of four star signs and therefore, in most cases, it joins planets in congenial signs of the same element. These energies combine well. However, there can be a lack of challenge and complacency as benefits are gained without effort.
Triplicity—See Essential Dignities and Debilities Also referring to the four elements. See also Elements. Also known as trigon.
Tropic of Cancer—During the summer solstice in the northern hemisphere, this is as far north of the equator as the Sun will travel. The Tropic of Cancer is a calculated line on the Earth's surface that corresponds with the position of the Sun during the solstice..
Tropic of Capricorn—During the Summer solstice in the southern hemisphere; this is as far south of the equator as the Sun will travel. The Tropic of Capricorn is a calculated line on the Earth's surface that corresponds with the position of the Sun during the Solstice.
